Our Mission

The Mission

BioSci Toolkit is a national non-profit CIC that empowers students—especially from Black, mixed, and seldom-heard ethnic communities—to confidently make informed decisions about bioscience degrees and careers.

 ↓

Vision ←

  • We envision a world where students from Black, mixed, and seldom heard communities are fully represented and thriving in bioscience.

  • We plan to become a leading force for equity in bioscience—offering tools, networks, and guidance from school classroom to career.

  • Bold futures in bioscience start here – where bioscience students are thriving not just surviving.

→ The Challenge

  • ACCESS: knowledge gaps and lower application success rates

  • PROGRESS: insufficient academic and personal support, visible role models, inclusive curriculum and support structures.

  • SUCCESS: lower attainment and lower progression to employment.

Target Audience ←

  • Black, mixed and seldom heard ethnic communities in bioscience disciplines.

  • From widening participation backgrounds, specifically young carers, care- experienced, estranged, refugee/asylum, on free school meals and attended a state school.
